{"id":1549,"date":"2017-09-07T01:59:39","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T01:59:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/?p=1549"},"modified":"2017-09-07T01:59:39","modified_gmt":"2017-09-07T01:59:39","slug":"phonepad-version-5-24-1-has-been-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/phonepad-version-5-24-1-has-been-released\/","title":{"rendered":"PhonePad Version 5.24.1 Has Been Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of <strong>PhonePad 5.24.1 Server Update<\/strong>, which is available for immediate download.<\/p>\n<h2>Changes and Fixes<\/h2>\n<p>This is a maintenance release to correct an issue with starting PhonePad that affects some users:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FIXED &#8211; A couple of error messages were being hidden, which gave the appearance of PhonePad not being able to connect to the server.\u00c2\u00a0 PhonePad had stopped on the errors waiting for user\u00c2\u00a0 input.\u00c2\u00a0 For some reason these errors were not being displayed to the user.\u00c2\u00a0 Over the last few versions we have been extending PhonePad&#8217;s logging capabilities to log any errors that may occur.\u00c2\u00a0 A user experiencing the connection problem sent us their logs using Log Viewer and we were able to locate the errors in the logs.\u00c2\u00a0 This showed us where the errors were occurring and we fixed them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Workstation Updates<\/h2>\n<p>If you are updating from a Version prior to 5.24.0, you will probably get the following message displayed on your workstations when starting PhonePad:<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/VersionMismatch-UpdateYourWorkstation.png\"><img data-opt-id=1604053696  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1550\" src=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/VersionMismatch-UpdateYourWorkstation.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"493\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:493\/h:419\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/VersionMismatch-UpdateYourWorkstation.png 493w, https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:300\/h:255\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/VersionMismatch-UpdateYourWorkstation.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 493px) 100vw, 493px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>This is because we changed the workstation update system in Version 5.24.0.\u00c2\u00a0 PhonePad versions <em>prior to 5.24.0<\/em> don&#8217;t know how to use the new update system and so don&#8217;t know how to update.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is in the message, as shown above.\u00c2\u00a0 Click the <em>Download and install PhonePad 5 Workstation<\/em> link.\u00c2\u00a0 It will download version 5.24.1 and install it on the workstation.\u00c2\u00a0 From that point onwards, any future updates will update automatically.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation Information<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.\u00c2\u00a0 The update will <strong>update<\/strong> your database whereas the setup program will <strong>overwrite<\/strong> it with a blank database.<\/p>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account or by using the <strong>Application Update<\/strong> option on the <strong>System Admin<\/strong> menu in PhonePad 5.<\/p>\n<p>These updates are available for both fully licensed users and trial users.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@cybercom-software.com\">Support<\/a> if you have any problems or questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.24.1 Server Update, which is available for immediate download.
