It took a while but the next version of PhonePad 5 is now available for download.<\/p>\n
After over two months of work we believe we may have finally fixed the connection issues that some customers were experiencing.\u00c2\u00a0 Due to the fact that we have never been able to reproduce these problems on our end, and that many customers weren’t experiencing these issues, it made it very difficult to isolate the cause.\u00c2\u00a0 It took a lot of investigation, development of various solutions, and a lot of Beta testing.\u00c2\u00a0 Hence the long gap since the last release.<\/p>\n
The amazing group of customers that volunteered to be Beta testers have reported that they are no longer having connectivity issues.\u00c2\u00a0 While we can’t guarantee that we have completely resolved these issues it’s looking pretty darn good.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 IMPROVED: Performance and connectivity.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 IMPROVED: New message notification system fixes message list and follow up notes refreshing issues. Replaces previous system which was sometimes blocked by network devices on some networks.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 IMPROVED: Log system has been completely replaced. Logs are now written to Public folder to avoid permissions issues that occurred on some systems.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 IMPROVED: LogViewer has an updated interface to reflect the new log format now used by PhonePad.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 IMPROVED: PhonePad now automatically calculates the Local Network Broadcast Address (which can be different for each network) and will try sending notifications on the Local Network Broadcast Address as well as the Global Broadcast Address.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 UPDATED: Changed the pie charts used in Master View.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 UPDATED: Database engine updated to 2.27 Build 1.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 REMOVED: Notifications Module on server is no longer required.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 FIXED: Outgoing messages form wasn’t populating the company and phone number fields when a caller was selected.

\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 FIXED: The wrong date range was displaying in Admin reports.
\n\u00e2\u00a6\u0081 FIXED: It wasn’t possible to <shift> <tab> from the Date field to the To field in phone messages.

Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.<\/p>\n Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and not<\/strong> the server setup program.\u00c2\u00a0 The update will update<\/strong> your database whereas the setup program will overwrite<\/strong> it with a blank database.<\/p>\n If you have the automatic update service installed then the update should automatically download and install.\u00c2\u00a0 If for some reason it doesn’t, you can download the update from your My PhonePad<\/a> account or by using the Application Update<\/strong> option on the System Admin<\/strong> menu in PhonePad 5.<\/p>\n These updates are available for both fully licensed users and trial users.\u00c2\u00a0 For licensed users you must have a current support plan to install the update.<\/p>\n
