{"id":1902,"date":"2019-07-18T08:11:18","date_gmt":"2019-07-18T08:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/?p=1902"},"modified":"2019-07-18T08:27:10","modified_gmt":"2019-07-18T08:27:10","slug":"phonepad-version-5-50-0-has-been-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/phonepad-version-5-50-0-has-been-released\/","title":{"rendered":"PhonePad Version 5.50.0 Has Been Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.50.0.<\/p>\n<p>Recently we introduced some performance improvements to PhonePad.\u00c2\u00a0 Some users experienced what appeared to be compatibility issues, although we were never able to reproduce these problems.\u00c2\u00a0 In this release we have reversed these changes.\u00c2\u00a0 Our current focus is on improving stability.<\/p>\n<p>If you still experience issues after installing this update please let us know as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h3>Changes in This Release<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>UPDATE &#8211; Database engine has been updated to 2.31 Build 7.<\/li>\n<li>UPDATE &#8211; Stability improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Minor fixes and improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Installation Information<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.\u00c2\u00a0 The update will <strong>update<\/strong> your database whereas the setup program will <strong>overwrite<\/strong> it with a blank database.<\/p>\n<h3>Updates and Anti-Virus Software<\/h3>\n<p>Depending on the anti-virus software you use, when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature.\u00c2\u00a0 If you experience speed or freezing issues after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.\u00c2\u00a0 This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.<\/p>\n<h3>Important Information If You Are Updating from PhonePad Version 5.35.x<\/h3>\n<p>Some code was added to the PhonePad loader program (the blue window with the PhonePad logo that finds the server connection) to log what security software was installed on the workstation that we would use to diagnose any startup issues.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately on some Windows 7 workstations this caused the PhonePad loader to just sit there and do nothing.\u00c2\u00a0 We don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know why this would have caused this and, as far as we have been able to ascertain, it only affects Windows 7 workstations.<\/p>\n<p>This code has been removed so this problem should no longer occur once these workstations have been updated to 5.36.0 or higher.\u00c2\u00a0 However, it does mean that the PhonePad Version 5.36.0 workstation setup program will need to be manually downloaded and installed on any affected workstations.<\/p>\n<h3>Downloading the Update<\/h3>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a trial user please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@cybercom-software.com\">Support<\/a> for a download link for this version.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@cybercom-software.com\">Support<\/a> if you have any problems or questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.50.0.
