{"id":2207,"date":"2020-06-25T22:37:23","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T22:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/?p=2207"},"modified":"2020-06-25T22:37:23","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T22:37:23","slug":"phonepad-version-5-57-2-has-been-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/phonepad-version-5-57-2-has-been-released\/","title":{"rendered":"PhonePad Version 5.57.2 Has Been Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.57.1.<\/p>\n<p>This is an important update for some clients.\u00c2\u00a0 The issue fixed in this release doesn&#8217;t affect everyone as it only occurs in certain situations.\u00c2\u00a0 If you are getting this error message when starting PhonePad then please install this update.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Blocked-Port-Error.png\"><img data-opt-id=1497781431  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2208 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Blocked-Port-Error.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"505\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:505\/h:382\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Blocked-Port-Error.png 505w, https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:300\/h:227\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Blocked-Port-Error.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 505px) 100vw, 505px\" \/><\/a>\n<h3>Changes in This Release<\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>FIXED &#8211; When searching for a PhonePad Server, in some situations PhonePad incorrectly reported that the Auto-Discovery port was blocked.<\/li>\n<li>Minor fixes and improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Installation Information<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation. <strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.<\/p>\n<h3>How Updates Work<\/h3>\n<p>You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to install every update between this one and the last update you installed.\u00c2\u00a0 PhonePad uses a smart update system that compares your current PhonePad system with what&#8217;s in the update, and then works out what changes are required, then makes those changes.<\/p>\n<h3>Updates and Anti-Virus Software<\/h3>\n<p>Depending on the anti-virus software you use, when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature.\u00c2\u00a0 If you experience <strong>speed or freezing issues<\/strong> after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.\u00c2\u00a0 This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.<\/p>\n<h3>Downloading the Update<\/h3>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account or by selecting <strong>Server Updates<\/strong> from the <strong>System Admin<\/strong> menu and clicking <strong>Check for Update <\/strong>(you will need to log in as an administrator). If you are a trial user you can also download the update by selecting <strong>Server Updates<\/strong> from the <strong>System Admin<\/strong> menu and clicking <strong>Check for Update<\/strong> (you will need to log in as an administrator).
