{"id":2315,"date":"2021-01-09T22:26:35","date_gmt":"2021-01-09T22:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/?p=2315"},"modified":"2021-01-09T22:26:35","modified_gmt":"2021-01-09T22:26:35","slug":"phonepad-version-5-64-1-has-been-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/phonepad-version-5-64-1-has-been-released\/","title":{"rendered":"PhonePad Version 5.64.1 Has Been Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.64.1.<\/p>\n<h3>Changes in This Release<\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>NEW: Address Book search now includes Notes fields.<\/li>\n<li>ADDED: New option under User Management allows managers and administrators to change user preferences.<\/li>\n<li>ADDED: Email address has been added to some printouts.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: &#8220;Server updates can only be installed on a Server or Host PC&#8221; message has been removed.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: When sending a phone message, additional user details can be added for a new caller. PhonePad was creating two new callers in the Address Book instead of one.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: Lastname, Firstname for callers was not working.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: Address Book: If the Fullname was changed, the Firstname, Middlename and Lastname would be overwritten when they already contained names.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: There seem to be some issues with Named Pipes in Windows 10. We have rewritten the message notification system to use a different method for interprocess communication.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: On some systems the Workstation Notification Service setup program would continuously launch when the Workstation Notification Service was not running.<\/li>\n<li>Minor fixes and improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Important Information About MessageSender<\/h3>\n<p>This release is only compatible with MessageSender Version <strong>6.18.0 or later<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Installation Information<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation. <strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.<\/p>\n<h3>How Updates Work<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please read:<\/strong> You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to install every update between this one and the last update you installed.\u00c2\u00a0 PhonePad uses a smart update system that compares your current PhonePad system with what&#8217;s in the update, works out what changes are required, and then makes those changes.<\/p>\n<h3>Updates and Anti-Virus Software<\/h3>\n<p>Depending on the anti-virus software you use, when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature.\u00c2\u00a0 If you experience <strong>speed or freezing issues<\/strong> after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.\u00c2\u00a0 This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.<\/p>\n<h3>Downloading the Update<\/h3>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account or by selecting <strong>Server Updates<\/strong> from the <strong>System Admin<\/strong> menu and clicking <strong>Check for Update <\/strong>(you will need to log in as an administrator). If you are a trial user you can also download the update by selecting <strong>Server Updates<\/strong> from the <strong>System Admin<\/strong> menu and clicking <strong>Check for Update<\/strong> (you will need to log in as an administrator).
