{"id":3253,"date":"2025-01-08T23:01:38","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T23:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/?p=3253"},"modified":"2025-01-11T22:08:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-11T22:08:33","slug":"phonepad-version-5-86-0-has-been-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/phonepad-version-5-86-0-has-been-released\/","title":{"rendered":"PhonePad Version 5.86.0 Has Been Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of <strong>PhonePad 5.86.0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Also included is <strong>Appointment Calendar Version 5.19.0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Changes in This Release<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>NEW: Appointment Calendar: Drag and drop appointments to change the start and end times, the date, and even the provider.<\/li>\n<li>NEW: Address Book: Tabs can now be moved.<\/li>\n<li>IMPROVED: Attachments are now forwarded for phone messages and memos.<\/li>\n<li>IMPROVED: Added Reminder, Delete Reminder, and Manage Reminders to Tools menu.<\/li>\n<li>IMPROVED: PhonePad Server now automatically detects IP Address changes while it&#8217;s running.<\/li>\n<li>IMPROVED: Added a Reconnection Log, mainly for troubleshooting purposes.<\/li>\n<li>CHANGED: Added Reminders to Tools menu.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: Appointment Calendar: A hidden error was occurring when adding appointments around 12 noon, using Standard time.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: The PhonePad loader program wasn&#8217;t automatically closing when PhonePad is launched.<\/li>\n<li>FIXED: To Do List: issue with recurring tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous improvements and fixes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Important Information About MessageSender<\/h2>\n<p>This release is only compatible with MessageSender Version <strong>6.25.0 or later<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Problems?<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re human too.\u00c2\u00a0 We haven&#8217;t been replaced by some algorithm &#8211; yet. And we&#8217;re definitely not perfect.\u00c2\u00a0 Like most other humans, we can make mistakes.\u00c2\u00a0 So chances are you may come across something that&#8217;s not quite working right.\u00c2\u00a0 If you do find an error or a bug, please let us know and we&#8217;ll fix it as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation Information<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00c2\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation. <strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.<\/p>\n<h2>How Updates Work<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Please read:<\/strong> You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to install every update between this one and the last update you installed.\u00c2\u00a0 PhonePad uses a smart update system that compares your current PhonePad system with what&#8217;s in the update, works out what changes are required, and then makes those changes.\u00c2\u00a0 So if you are a few versions behind don&#8217;t worry.\u00c2\u00a0 You can skip all of the updates in between and go straight to this update.<\/p>\n<h2>Updates and Anti-Virus Software<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the anti-virus software you use, <em>when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 If you experience <strong>speed or freezing issues<\/strong> after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.\u00c2\u00a0 This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.<\/p>\n<h2>Digital Signatures<\/h2>\n<p>All PhonePad executables and DLLs are digitally signed for your protection.<\/p>\n<p>You can confirm that a file is safe by right-clicking on it and selecting <em>Properties<\/em> from the popup menu, and then selecting the <em>Digital Signatures<\/em> tab.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png\"><img data-opt-id=1992191500  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2494\" src=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"405\" height=\"543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:405\/h:543\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png 405w, https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:224\/h:300\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 405px) 100vw, 405px\" \/><\/a>\n<h2>Downloading the Update<\/h2>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a current trial user you can download the update by logging in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/myphonepadtrial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My PhonePad Trial<\/a> using the email address you used to start your trial.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@cybercom-software.com\">Support<\/a> if you have any problems or questions.<\/p>\n<h2>Installing Updates<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re unsure of how to install updates, please watch the video on <a href=\"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/index.php\/2021\/09\/updating-phonepad-to-a-newer-version\/\">this blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to have a current Update Plan to install this update.\u00c2\u00a0 If your Update Plan has expired, you will need to renew it before you can install this update.<\/p>\n<h2>Update Installation Service<\/h2>\n<p>If you would rather have the Server Update installed for you, you can arrange for us to remote connect and install it.\u00c2\u00a0 The cost is $37 and you can schedule a date and time here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/remote-server-update-assistance.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/remote-server-update-assistance.htm<\/a> .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.86.0.
