And we&#8217;re definitely not perfect.\u00a0 Like most other humans, we can make mistakes.\u00a0 So chances are you may come across something that&#8217;s not quite working right.\u00a0 If you do find an error or a bug, please let us know and we&#8217;ll fix it as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation Information<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Server Updates <strong>must<\/strong> be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) &#8211; they <strong>cannot<\/strong> be installed directly on your workstations.\u00a0 Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.\u00a0 Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation. <strong>Important<\/strong>: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, <strong>make sure it&#8217;s actually the update<\/strong> and <strong>not<\/strong> the server setup program.<\/p>\n<h2>How Updates Work<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Please read:<\/strong> You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to install every update between this one and the last update you installed.\u00a0 PhonePad uses a smart update system that compares your current PhonePad system with what&#8217;s in the update, works out what changes are required, and then makes those changes.\u00a0 So if you are a few versions behind don&#8217;t worry.\u00a0 You can skip all of the updates in between and go straight to this update.<\/p>\n<h2>Updates and Anti-Virus Software<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the anti-virus software you use, <em>when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature<\/em>.\u00a0 If you experience <strong>speed or freezing issues<\/strong> after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.\u00a0 This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.<\/p>\n<h2>Digital Signatures<\/h2>\n<p>All PhonePad executables and DLLs are digitally signed for your protection.<\/p>\n<p>You can confirm that a file is safe by right-clicking on it and selecting <em>Properties<\/em> from the popup menu, and then selecting the <em>Digital Signatures<\/em> tab.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png\"><img data-opt-id=1992191500  data-opt-src=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png\"  decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2494\" src=\"data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20100%%20100%%22%20width%3D%22100%%22%20height%3D%22100%%22%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%22100%%22%20height%3D%22100%%22%20fill%3D%22transparent%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" alt=\"\" width=\"405\" height=\"543\" old-srcset=\"https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:405\/h:543\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png 405w, https:\/\/mld50qmdoq2m.i.optimole.com\/w:224\/h:300\/q:mauto\/ig:avif\/https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/PhonePad-Server-Digital-Signature.png 224w\" \/><\/a>\n<h2>Downloading the Update<\/h2>\n<p>You can download the update from your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myphonepad.com\">My PhonePad<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a current trial user you can download the update by logging in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/myphonepadtrial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My PhonePad Trial<\/a> using the email address you used to start your trial.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@cybercom-software.com\">Support<\/a> if you have any problems or questions.<\/p>\n<h2>Installing Updates<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re unsure of how to install updates, please watch the video on <a href=\"https:\/\/cybercom-software.com\/blog\/index.php\/2021\/09\/updating-phonepad-to-a-newer-version\/\">this blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to have a current PhonePad Care Plan to install this update.\u00a0 If your Care Plan has expired, you will need to renew it before you can install this update.<\/p>\n<h2>Update Installation Service<\/h2>\n<p>If you would rather have the Server Update installed for you, you can arrange for us to remote connect and install it.\u00a0 The cost is $45 and you can schedule a date and time here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/remote-server-update-assistance.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.cybercom-software.com\/remote-server-update-assistance.htm<\/a> .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the second week of the New Year and we&#8217;re excited to announce the release of PhonePad 5.90.1.
