We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.3.1 Server Update.
New Features
- You can now move messages between folders using drag and drop.
- When starting Windows, often network connections are not available straight away. If you have PhonePad set to start automatically when Windows starts, you may get error messages about PhonePad not being able to connect to a server because the network connection is not initialized. You can now specify a startup delay so that PhonePad waits a specific number of seconds before attempting to access the network.
- Added Clear button for Search screen.
- Backing up your PhonePad data is important. That’s why PhonePad has a built-in automatic backup feature. But that’s only the first step. To truly keep your PhonePad data safe you need to have off-site backups. PhonePad 5 now has an automatic feature that will copy your backup files to an external storage. This can be a flash drive, an external desktop drive, or even DropBox (that’s what we use).
- Added presets for email services to Communication Settings.
- Added option to specify delay for new message alert window.
Changes and Fixes
- Follow Up list was not being cleared when messages were moved to another folder. – FIXED.
- “List Index Out of Bounds (-1)” error when trying to perform various functions after message list has refreshed. This was a bug in the 3rd party grid component used for message lists. – FIXED.
- Automatic Message Forwarding settings for individual users were not saving correctly. – FIXED.
- Message filter was being reset when Inbox was refreshed. – FIXED.
- The PhonePad email features were not working with some mail servers. – FIXED.
It is recommended that you apply this update as soon as possible. Please note that the update must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC). If you don’t do this then the update will not work.
Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.
