It helps to identify questionable sites with possibly dodgy reviews.
Fakespot is available as a plugin from within the Firefox web browser.
Here’s an example from a website we were looking at buying from.
Of course, it doesn’t pick up everything scammy on the Internet, so you still need to be aware and alert to possible tricks designed to separate you from your money.
By the way, we have no association with Mozilla or Fakespot. We just think it’s another good tool to help defend yourself against scam websites, and wanted to tell you about it.
