We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.30.2.
Changes in This Release
⦁ FIXED: When new messages were set to appear at the bottom of a message list, they were being reset to appear at the top.
⦁ FIXED: The position of the splitter between Inbox message list and follow up list was not being saved between sessions.
⦁ FIXED: Follow Up toolbar buttons were sometimes disabled.
⦁ Various minor fixes and improvements.
Installation Information
Please note: Server Updates must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) – they cannot be installed directly on your workstations. Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed. Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.
Important: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, make sure it’s actually the update and not the server setup program. The update will update your database whereas the setup program will overwrite it with a blank database.
If you have the automatic update service installed then the update should automatically download and install. If for some reason it doesn’t, you can download the update from your My PhonePad account or by using the Application Update option on the System Admin menu in PhonePad 5.
These updates are available for both fully licensed users and trial users. For licensed users you must have a current support plan to install the update.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.30.0.

⦁ FIXED: Automatically moving completed messages to a folder was not working.

We messed up.
There was a bug in our build and deploy script that caused the wrong version of the PhonePad5Run.exe program to be included in the 5.29.1 release (5.29.0 instead of 5.29.1).
This was due to human error
and has been fixed. You should now be able to install Version 5.29.2 successfully.
Version 5.29.2 includes all of the changes from 5.29.0 and 5.29.1, except it has the correct version of the executable.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and we thank you for your patience while we got this resolved.

It took a while but the next version of PhonePad 5 is now available for download.
Connection Issues
After over two months of work we believe we may have finally fixed the connection issues that some customers were experiencing. Due to the fact that we have never been able to reproduce these problems on our end, and that many customers weren’t experiencing these issues, it made it very difficult to isolate the cause. It took a lot of investigation, development of various solutions, and a lot of Beta testing. Hence the long gap since the last release.
The amazing group of customers that volunteered to be Beta testers have reported that they are no longer having connectivity issues. While we can’t guarantee that we have completely resolved these issues it’s looking pretty darn good.

If you ever need to know the IP Address of your computer, there’s a simple way to get it. Simply download MyIP and run it. It also shows your Subnet Mask.
MyIP is free to download and use, and it should work on any Windows computer.
You may want to start with a new, clean database if you enter “play data” during the trial period. There are a couple of steps to doing this.
The first step is to download the Server Setup program for the version of PhonePad you have been using, or you can update to the latest version. You can download it from your My PhonePad account.
Once you have download the Server Setup program, don’t run it yet. There is no harm if you do because it won’t overwrite any existing database.
The way to delete your database is to run Delete My Database.
You will be asked to confirm the deletion a couple of times. It’s important to know that this process cannot be reversed.
Once that’s done, run the Server Setup program to create a brand spanking new PhonePad database.
We have had some reports where a small number of users are experiencing problems connecting to the server. In most cases they are able to eventually connect but not until they have tried several times. Most users are not experiencing this issue and we are unable to reproduce it ourselves despite trying for weeks to isolate the possible cause.
If it takes you several attempts to connect, please download and run the ConnectionCheck program to your workstation.
Here’s an example of it running on a workstation where we performed 200 connection tests in quick succession.
Once the testing has been completed you can generate a report by clicking the Print button. Once the report appears you can click the PDF button to create a PDF file, which you can send to us if any of the tests fail.
When PhonePad starts you should normally be prompted to enter your username and password, unless you have automatic login enabled.
If PhonePad starts with no login window and displays just a blank main window (and possibly a remote login window) then something is definitely wrong. And that “wrong” is more than likely anti-virus software on your Server or Host PC intefering with one of PhonePad’s files: ConfigModule.dll.
We have seen this happen with the Kapersky security software. It thinks that the file is infected and deletes it, causing the PhonePad startup problem. We used the Kapersky Labs online scanner and it has cleared the file, so we’re not sure why it still identifies it as suspicious.
We also used Virus Total to check ConfigModule.dll with other virus scanners.
As you can see, it clears all scans. We are working with Kapersky Labs to get this problem resolved. A new article on this topic has been added to the Knowledge Base.
UPDATE
Kapersky Labs have now resolved this issue in an update. If you are still experiencing the problem you may need to update to the Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 edition.
