PhonePad 5.8.1 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.8.1 Server Update. This is a maintenance release.

Changes and Fixes

Reminders in System Rules can now be created on the same day.
Master View charts can now be resized.
Improved name splitting when adding new Address Book entries.
Added missing parameters for Clickatell.
Added methods for Remote Access.
Fixed issues with MessageAlert.
Added Separator and Date/Time stamp options for phone messages.
Minor fixes.

Please note: Server Updates must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) – they cannot be installed directly on your workstations.

Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation.

If you have PhonePad Version 5.5.0 or later you should be able to download and install this update via the Application Update feature. If you have automatic updates enabled then the update should download and install for you automatically.

You can also download the updates from your My PhonePad account.

These updates are available for both fully licensed users and trial users.

PhonePad 5.7.0 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.7.0 Server Update.

New Features

Added MessageAlert. Designed for users with access to multiple inboxes, MessageAlert enables you to monitor all of the inboxes for new messages simultaneously. Only users who have new messages will be displayed. Clicking on a name will take you straight to the user’s Inbox.

Changes and Fixes

Changed phone formatting edit field in System Rules so that it only accepts valid characters.
When clicking the Group Users button in Groups when the list is empty, an error will be displayed – FIXED.
Added code to Add Caller form to split name into Firstname and Lastname.
Modified the version mismatch screen. Users can now download the appropriate version of PhonePad Workstation to match the server version.
Fixed issue with new message notifications from other users.
Minor fixes.

Moving Your PhonePad 5 Database.

If you ever need to move your PhonePad 5 database to a different Server or Host PC, the MoveDatabase application will make it quick and simple. Just download the application and install it on your current Server or Host PC. Run it and follow the 4 easy steps.

It will compress your database into a self-extracting file that is preset for the correct database location on your new Server or Host PC.

Important Note: If you are installing a newer version of PhonePad 5 Server on your new Server or Host PC, upgrade your existing Server or Host PC before running MoveDatabase.

PhonePad 5.6.0 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.6.0 Server Update.

New Features

Added short messages: Pushover and SMS. You can now send quick messages to staff via Pushover or clients by SMS.
Added user access options for Pushover and SMS messages. Administrators can set user access to these features.
Added user message statistics to Overview.
Added a new feature that allows admins to find any duplicate entries in the Address Book.
Admins can now specify the number of days for automatic deleted message clearing.
Admins can show or hide tabs in Address Book entries.
Address Book entries can now show a caller’s location on Google Maps.
Additional caller information can now be added when logging a phone call, eg. Address, multiple phone numbers, location on Google Maps.
New message printout shows caller address and the location on Google Maps.
Added Delete button for system log.

Changes and Fixes

Added vendor fix for message list issues: invalid multiple selections, “Index Out of Bounds” errors.
Changed Error Log to Event Log and added radio buttons to allow display of Information events.
Fixed issue with Instant Chat closing instead of minimizing when X clicked and option set to minimize.
Minor fixes to PhonePad 5 and InstantChat.

PhonePad 5.5.0 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.5.0 Server Update.

This version of PhonePad 5 is all about updates. We have improved, redesigned and simplified the Application Update feature making it easy for you to check for new versions and install them.

We have also implemented an Auto Update feature. If you want updates downloaded and installed automatically without having to worry about them, this is the feature for you. PhonePad 5 Server will check for updates every night and install any that are found. Workstations will be automatically updated when users log in.

As always, this update must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) – it cannot be installed directly on your workstations.

Inbox messages can be reassigned to other users using drag and drop.
The User List can display the number of unread messages and uncompleted follow ups.
Messages can now be sent to disabled user accounts.

PhonePad 5.3.1 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad 5.3.1 Server Update.

New Features

You can now move messages between folders using drag and drop.
When starting Windows, often network connections are not available straight away. If you have PhonePad set to start automatically when Windows starts, you may get error messages about PhonePad not being able to connect to a server because the network connection is not initialized. You can now specify a startup delay so that PhonePad waits a specific number of seconds before attempting to access the network.
Added Clear button for Search screen.
Backing up your PhonePad data is important. That’s why PhonePad has a built-in automatic backup feature. But that’s only the first step. To truly keep your PhonePad data safe you need to have off-site backups. PhonePad 5 now has an automatic feature that will copy your backup files to an external storage. This can be a flash drive, an external desktop drive, or even DropBox (that’s what we use).
Added presets for email services to Communication Settings.
Added option to specify delay for new message alert window.

Changes and Fixes

Follow Up list was not being cleared when messages were moved to another folder. – FIXED.
“List Index Out of Bounds (-1)” error when trying to perform various functions after message list has refreshed. This was a bug in the 3rd party grid component used for message lists. – FIXED.
Automatic Message Forwarding settings for individual users were not saving correctly. – FIXED.
Message filter was being reset when Inbox was refreshed. – FIXED.
The PhonePad email features were not working with some mail servers. – FIXED.

It is recommended that you apply this update as soon as possible. Please note that the update must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC). If you don’t do this then the update will not work.
