PhonePad Version 5.56.0 Has Been Released.

We are pleased to announce the release of PhonePad Version 5.56.0.

There are a lot of changes in this release, including quite a few bug fixes, so it’s a good idea to update.  If you discover any problems please email Support as soon as possible.  We can’t promise that releases will be bug-free (no-one can) but we can promise that we will try to fix any as soon as we possibly can.

Changes in This Release

  • ADDED – Link to new CSV Header Editor has been added to Address Book Import window.
  • ADDED – Message preview for all folders (Sent, Outgoing, etc.)
  • ADDED – Caller Lookup now includes Fullname search.
  • ADDED – New options in settings allow you to set message forms to always stay on top. Or not.
  • ADDED – Suffix field added to Address Book to allow entering of Junior, Senior and qualifications (eg. MD).
  • ADDED – CheckDatabase program to check for data corruption in the PhonePad database.
  • IMPROVED – ControlBar has been reduced in size so that it occupies less screen space.
  • IMPROVED – The Address Book import has been refreshed to provide more flexible importing.
  • UPDATED – Database engine updated to 2.31 Build 11.
  • FIXED – Alphabetical ordering of folders.
  • FIXED – Address Book was not refreshing after adding, updating and deleting Address Book entries.
  • FIXED – Caller Preview sometimes shows incorrect information.
  • FIXED – Forwarded and replied messages cannot be viewed.
  • FIXED – Groups Don’t Always Display Correctly in To List.
  • FIXED – Login details under User Management.
  • FIXED – Message list searching was not returning multiple matches.
  • FIXED – Sent folder not refreshing.
  • FIXED – Unable to open forwarded and replied messages in Sent folder.
  • Minor fixes and improvements.

Installation Information

Please note: Server Updates must be installed on your Server or Host PC, not your workstation (unless your workstation is also the Host PC) – they cannot be installed directly on your workstations.  Make sure all users are logged out of PhonePad as the PhonePad Server will be stopped during the update and then restarted once it has completed.  Workstations will be automatically updated when PhonePad 5 Workstation is started on each workstation. Important: When downloading and installing an update from your My PhonePad account, make sure it’s actually the update and not the server setup program.

Updates and Anti-Virus Software

Depending on the anti-virus software you use, when you install a Server Update your AV software may class the updated software as a different program due to the change in binary signature.  If you experience speed or freezing issues after an update, you may need to reconfigure your AV software to stop real-time scanning of PhonePad.  This may need to be done on the both your Server or Host PC, and your workstations.

Downloading the Update

You can download the update from your My PhonePad account or by selecting Server Updates from the System Admin menu and clicking Check for Update (you will need to log in as an administrator). If you are a trial user you can also download the update by selecting Server Updates from the System Admin menu and clicking Check for Update (you will need to log in as an administrator).
